Saveh - Workers of Safa Pipe factory in the city of Saveh, Markazi province, staged a gathering on Wednesday May 10 in front of the governor’s office for the second time in recent months to protest non-payment of salaries. A frustrated worker noted negligence of government officials and said: “What would be the reaction of those who don’t want to hear our voice if they do not receive their wages for two to five months and their insurance premiums and benefits are not paid for months?”
Ahwaz - On Tuesday May 9, a large number of farmers staged a protest gathering in front of the governor's office against the shortage of agricultural water in this capital city of Khuzestan province. It should be noted that Khuzestan Water Department had banned the use of water for farmers in order to extort them. This is while the farmers have always had certain water usage rights.
Dorud – On Wednesday May 10, a group of Farsit factory workers gathered in front of the Governorate office in the city of Dorud, the capital of Dorud county in Lorestan province, to protest non-payment of their wages. On protesting worker said: “Non-payment of our salaries and the authorities’ negligence and lack of response to our demands as well as firing contract workers on a weekly and even daily basis were the reasons for our protest gathering.
Shahr-e Babak - On Wednesday May 10, contract workers of Sarcheshmeh Copper Mine in Shahr-e Babak, Kerman province, staged protest gathering in front of the Sarcheshmeh Copper Complex entrance for the third consecutive day. They are protesting against inequality in wages and benefits and lack of official hiring of contract workers. The workers announced that the protest will continue until they achieve their legitimate demands.
